RMGA has produced its first ever Quality and Outcomes Report this year. The report includes data recorded since 2007 by our Quality Assurance (QA) Committee. Chaired by Lee Richman, MD, FACP, the QA committee meets quarterly to ensure that RMGA is meeting or exceeding the guidelines set forth in its written policy. The policy outlines quality tracking on the following items: preparation quality, polyp detection rates, cecal intubation rates, polyp location, especially in the right-side of the colon, as well as documenting any abnormalities that are identified during a procedure.
The Quality and Outcomes Report for 2009 highlights data on the number of colonoscopy procedures our physicians performed at our endoscopy centers in 2009, as well as the number of exams completed to the cecum, colonoscopy preparation done by the patient as “good” or “excellent,” and the pre-cancerous polyp rate in patients over the age of 50 years. In addition to outlining our quality measurements and statistics, the Quality and Outcomes Report for 2009 gives an overview of our practice.
We are very pleased to offer this information about our practice in a format that can be widely distributed to members of our community, including our patients, employers, referring physicians and payers.
