Rocky Mountain Gastroenterology Associates

Rocky Mountain Gastroenterology Associates (RMGA) is devoted to the care of patients with diseases and disorders of the digestive tract; including the esophagus, stomach and intestines.

Founded in 1997, RMGA has grown into a practice of twenty-three (23) Gastroenterologists with eight (8) office locations and three (3) endoscopy centers serving the Greater Denver Metro Area.  Additionally, our Board Certified Physicians practice at a variety of hospitals and travel to other communities in Colorado to see patients and perform Colonoscopy and Upper Endoscopy procedures.

We are a clinical office practice, although many of us have research interests and participate in clinical research.  As a physician-owned practice that participates in a wide variety of insurance plans, we approach medicine with an attitude that puts you, the patient, first and foremost as our priority. Thank you for your interest in RMGA. We look forward to providing you with superior care!

A Word from our CEO: On Quality Care Ratings

To Our Patients:

It is our privilege to provide medical care to you and your family. Providing quality care to each of you based on your individual needs and desires is a responsibility we take very seriously.

You may have heard about recent efforts by insurance companies to “rate” physicians, supposedly based on the quality of care the physician provides. These systems often rate quality based on cost using computer programs that look at numbers and dollar amounts.

This is not the best way to judge whether or not you receive “quality” care – no cost-based computer program in the world can do that.

As a patient, you need confidence that your physician will provide you with the best medical care and not simply the cheapest. The easiest way to provide cheap health care is to provide less health care – and that is not fair to you.

We support scientific efforts designed to improve health care quality, and the American Medical Association along with various State and National Medical Societies have established appropriate guidelines to measure physician quality. Unfortunately, most current insurance company rating systems do not meet these guidelines.

Our number one goal is to provide quality health care that puts you, the patient, first and foremost as our priority.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the medical care that you receive in our clinics.

Sincerely,

Craig Bakken, CEO
