Rebecca and Kent Knight, Husband and Wife

I had put off having a colonoscopy for several years because of the anxiety factor.  I’ve lost two close friends (both well under 50 years old) to colon cancer and knew it was the right thing to do.

Finally, after being told by two doctors over the years and hearing from the widow of one friend that it needed to be done, I relented.  My wife and I made appointments to do it the same day and arranged for a friend to drive us home.  I have to say it was much easier than I ever expected and I have no fear of a repeat procedure in the future.

The staff was professional and very reassuring.  The preparation was actually quite easy and I got a night’s sleep before.  The procedure was over very quickly, we both felt great afterwards — and even stopped for breakfast on the way home.

I have to say it’s a relief to know everything inside is normal — even though I wasn’t expecting anything abnormal.  I’m certain neither of the friends I’ve lost to colon cancer thought anything was abnormal either — until it was too late.  I watched for several years as both of them fought their battle with colon cancer. A colonoscopy is a breeze compared to fighting colon cancer.

This was a great experience for me – much better than I expected. The staff was wonderful and went out of their way to be helpful and just plain nice!! I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
