In addition to diagnosing and treating patients with digestive diseases, RMGA’s gastroenterologists perform over 35,000 Colonoscopy procedures per year and are committed to providing the best quality of care available to our patients.
Rocky Mountain Endoscopy Centers is pleased to announce that we now offer Propofol sedation to our patients through Anesthesia Associates of the Rockies for endoscopic procedures. Patients having their procedure done at the Aurora Endoscopy Center, Lakewood Endoscopy Center or North Denver Endoscopy Center will be screened for eligibility and, provided they are a good candidate, will receive Propofol administered by a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
Propofol offers many advantages as a sedative for endoscopy, including:

“Colonoscopies may miss cancers in the colon’s right-side”
The article suggests that Colonoscopies may miss cancers in the colon’s right side, according to a recent study appearing online in the Dec. 16th issue of Annals of Internal Medicine. The study reports that Canadian researchers found that “the test missed just about every cancer in the right side of the colon, where cancers are harder to detect, but about 40 percent arise.”
